A great combination of fantasy, geography, and learning about other cultures! Little Passports encourages kids to think globally.
Little Passports offers two monthly subscription programs that help children learn about the US or the world in a creative and engaging way. My boys, ages 5 and 6, were very excited about first package when it arrived in the mail. They loved the suitcase, and enjoyed checking out the passport, the map, and adding stickers to the suitcase. Sam and Sophie, our tour guides, were funny and interesting and definitely got my boys' attention.
The next month a small envelope came in the mail. The boys were excited to hear the letter from Sam and Sophie, which gave information about Brazil in an engaging and story-like way. The liked the post card, the sticker for their suitcase, and the stickers they got to add to their passport and map. Best of all was the piece of amethyst, which my younger son gets out to show every visitor who comes to our house. "This came from a mine in Brazil! Sam sent it to us!" The monthly "boarding pass" can be used to access a website were the boys learned more about the country of Brazil and played some games.
Last month our package took us to the far east, to Japan! The boys enjoyed the letter, photo, and the little sushi eraser, but their favorite part was the package of origami paper. So far we've made boats, a helmet, and dogs, following the directions that were included. For some reason they thought that origami was just for girls, and I think they've changed their minds about that!
