Play: Spongey Pineapple

We decided to assign pineapple to joy because, well, what else do you think of when you see a pineapple? :)

This activity is a simple one.

1. Print off one of the two pineapple templates I made.

Pineapple 1

Pineapple(1)

2. Buy a pack of yellow sponges from the dollar store (each pineapple used about 1.5 sponges). Cut them into squares and let the sponges dry out overnight (they'll be a bit damp right out of the package).

3. Give your kids the sponges, some glue, the pineapple printout, a green crayon, and let them go to town!

As we did the activity, we talked about what the difference between happiness and joy was, and worked on our memory verse we chose for the week- "Be joyful always."
